Emily Elizabeth Morley of Cambridge Participates in Professional Internship at St. Scholastica

Emily Elizabeth Morley is participating in three professional internships as part of her Health Informatics Management major at The College of St. Scholastica.

she is a senior, and is the daughter of Joe and Jayne Morley of Cambridge.

The internships occur between Feb. 20 through April 6 and are for credit. Morley's internships include:

• A Directed Practice Experience at Fairview lakes medical Center in Wyoming, MN, focusing on departmental operations, functions and roles, Feb. 20 through March 9.
• An Explorations internship at Care Communications, Inc. in Chicago, IL, offering experience in a non-traditional setting for a HIM professional, March 19 through 23.
• A Management Affiliation at Abbott Northwestern Hospitals (Allina), in which the concentration is on management of health information in an organization as well as the relationships HIM has with other departments in organizations, March 26 through April 6.

St. Scholastica's major in Health Information Management is housed in the Department of Healthcare Informatics and Information Management at St. Scholastica. The bachelor of science degree provides students with professional knowledge necessary to assume management responsibility for health records and health information systems in a variety of health related settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care settings, consulting firms, government agencies, insurance companies and software vendors.
