The scholarship is called CSSyes and is available for in-coming freshmen who have made good grades in high school but are unable to pay for their own college due to financial barriers.

Lindsy is a part of the first class of CSSyes recipients who started college at St. Scholastica this fall. CSSyes pays for a student's tuition for all four years at St. Scholastica. It is open to students pursuing any major, any field.

"It fits perfectly with our mission," says Joe Wicklund, director of first-year admissions. "We are a school of extraordinary access. We've always been a college that has served a wide variety of students of different backgrounds."

In order to apply for CSSyes, students must have a high school grade point average of 3.0 and scored at least a 20 on their ACT exam.

In order to be granted funding through the scholarship, a student must first file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If a student is eligible for federal or state aid, or a Benedictine scholarship, CSSyes can help cover the remaining costs of tuition.

For more information and an application visit css.edu/yes.

The College of St. Scholastica is regularly recognized as one of the finest colleges in the Midwest. The 2013 "America's Best Colleges" survey by U.S. News & World Report magazine ranks St. Scholastica in the top tier of Midwestern universities. The Washington Post has rated St. Scholastica as one of the nation's 100 "hidden gems" among U.S. colleges and universities.
